What would test a broader healthspan claim?

🧪 The GLP-1 conversation at ARDD 2026 raises a study-design question: what would test a broader healthspan claim?
SELECT demonstrated cardiovascular benefit for semaglutide in a defined population with existing cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity, without diabetes. That evidence does not establish longevity benefits in healthy adults.
A broader claim needs its own prospective, controlled evidence: meaningful function, clinical outcomes, safety and enough follow-up for the question being asked. Exploratory aging-biology findings can help choose what to investigate. They cannot supply the answer in advance.
