⚖️ Healthspan research has to ask about the trade-offs as well as the gains.
What benefit matters in daily life? How substantial is it, how long does it last, and what adverse effects accompany it? Who was included in the study, and who was not? Those questions belong beside any promising efficacy result.
For the ARDD 2026 conversation, that means treating safety and meaningful function as part of the ambition from the start. A compelling mechanism is a reason to investigate; a useful therapy needs a benefit–risk case for the people who would receive it.
